Just show up and run. It couldn't be easier!
The E-Board recently voted to amend the race entry reimbursement policy for 2009.
Now, any current club member can run any of the seven New England Grand Prix races free of charge regardless of the number Grand Prix races you’re able to run. And, the race entry fees will be pre-paid by the club so that there are no up-front costs for you. Just show up and run! It couldn’t be easier! Below is a list of the races that are eligible for reimbursement for 2009:
Feb 22 – DH Jones 10 Mile - Amherst, MA
Mar 15 - New Bedford Half-Marathon - New Bedford, MA
May 16 – Bedford Rotary 12K - Bedford NH
June 7 - Rhody 5K - Lincoln, RI
Sept 12 - Ollie 5 Mile - South Boston, MA
Sept 20 – Lone Gull 10K - Gloucester, MA
Oct 18 – Bay State Marathon - Lowell, MA
So as you can see, even though the cold weather is here to stay, the racing season is well on its way. Our first NEGP race is right around the corner on February 22nd at the DH Jones 10 miler in Amherst, MA. If you want to run just shoot an e-mail to Michael Wade with your information (including your current 2009 USATF#) and I’ll get you signed up for the race. In the weeks leading up to race day I’ll be adding everyone’s name to our race list on the GCS website so you can see who’s running and how we’re set for teams. Please understand that, by telling me that you want to run, you are making a commitment to your team to be there on race day. If for some reason, you can't run (after the club has already paid your entry fee) then you'll need to reimburse the club for that entry fee before we can sign you up for another race.
In addition to new entry fee pre-payment policy, we’ll also be continuing with our wildly successful NEGP Intra-Team Competition. But, this year, we’ll be awarding prizes to the top three point getters in each age group. So, make sure you get out and start racing with us from day one. You don’t want to be left out in the cold!
